For those patients who find it difficult to visit the surgery during working hours, a limited number of Evening Appointments with our Doctors and Nurses are available each week.
The appointments are offered at Westover Surgery between 18:30 and 20:30 and normally take place on a Monday, Tuesday or a Wednesday. The day can vary from week to week depending on Doctor and Nurse availability.
Appointments are bookable via Reception.
We are a friendly approachable team who aim to provide you with all your healthcare needs and advice while you are living in Falmouth.
Woodlane Branch Surgery is conveniently located within metres of the Woodlane Campus and within easy walking distance of the main student residential areas in Falmouth. Our Westover branch is located in Western Terrace (nextdoor to the Tennis Club).
At Westover we understand how some patients may struggle with the cost of travel vaccinations. Most surgeries will make a charge for or these but if possible under NHS regulations we will supply these free of charge. Others we will supply and administer at cost price.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. Some vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
